You remember when exhaustion and overwhelm weren’t the norm in your life and are ready to do something to bring the vitality, excitement and energy back!
I am here to work with you to discover how to reconnect with the self you know that you can be. I work with you to discover your ability to find your limits and to honor them, to find the things that bring you joy again, to eliminate the things that suck your energy so that you can find your vibrant energetic self again.
In approaching counselling I strongly believe in collaboration and connection with you. I work at your pace, never pushing you to be where you are not ready to go, while still encouraging you to challenge yourself. Together we will help you find tools and techniques for boundaries, connection to yourself, and strategies for burnout.
Also, if you want to go deeper, we will work on find out the why behind some of the things your find yourself doing that can feel out of your control at times. We will work on untangling some of the confusing thoughts and emotions surrounding your behavior; as well as processing through what is driving your reactions.
I embrace a non-pathologizing approach to counselling and believe in the intrinsic ability of every individual to heal and grow. I have confidence that at your core there is a center that is trustworthy, resourceful, and capable of self-understanding and self-direction. I am excited to work with you to discover that core to it’s full extent!
Attachments can make a huge different in your energy levels, whether they drain you or fill you.
I come from an attachment based perspective. Understanding how incredibly vital the attachments in our life are, I will work together with you to make sure the attachments in your life are adding to your energy and vitality instead of taking away from it. This may mean learning good communication skills and healthy boundaries.
Trauma in our lives can be a hidden source of many of the struggles we experience and the driving factor behind some of the decisions we make.
I have been trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a body-based trauma treatment in which we trust in the intrinsic wisdom of your body to help carry you through to the other side of any trauma you may have experienced.
It can be confusing when you feel different parts of yourself wanting different things, and this can make you feel out of control in certain areas.
I work with a modality called Internal Family Systems. In this modality, we work with the different parts of you that are impacting your situations. This can help you make sense of the why behind your actions, as well as give you the ability to do something to facilitate change.
